Breanna Lopez Tests at South Sound Speedway
Hi Everyone!
Yesterday (Saturday
02/11) we tested the car for the first time in months at South Sound
Speedway, Tenino, where I will be racing five times in 2006. Every time I
get into that car it reminds me of just how lucky I am to have found
something I love so much.
I went there no longer as a rookie, I have a year under my belt, and I have to say that made me a little more relaxed. All of the off season I've just been watching the DVD's of the races from last season, I've really been studying myself along with my competitors. I've been reading books involving basic chassis analysis. Also, I recently received sponsorship from Thorebecks Fitness, where I am on a fitness training program. Long story short I've been mentally and physically preparing myself for this season. We had a pretty successful test regardless of the fact of breaking the Right Front radius rod in the last run. You can see me broad siding the wall in the video of my test day. Just go to the videos link. Fortunately, the radius rod broke at the very end of the day, and I was able to focus on getting the car as fast as it could be. I gained allot of valuable knowledge. I was really concentrated and it paid off. Everybody on the team saw a huge difference in the whole process and outcome. We improved with every run. We almost gained a whole second from the first time out to when we drug the car into the trailer, ah, sadly, the front axel bent pretty good. We have to put a new one in. We basically went there to dust the winter rust off, work on our communication, and work on the setup of the car, which is exactly what we did, given we created a little more work for ourselves. However, I would rather have it happen testing, then in the middle of a race. Overall, I am very satisfied and excited. I think with luck on our side and good preparation, we will have a fantastic season. Thank you all for supporting me, you have no idea how it fuels me.
