Danny Mathus finishes 9th

Irwindale, CA  (7-10-05) – Danny Mathus qualified the No. 42 truck 9th for Saturday nights Dodge Super Trucks race at Irwindale Speedway. “The truck ran good in qualifying, we were very happy with our run.”

“We didn’t do as well as we had hoped in the race..  The team worked hard on the truck and made good improvements in practice.” Commented Danny Mathus, the 25-year-old Mesa, Arizona driver.

“During practice we went out on a limb and tried some very aggressive setups on the truck.  We made some pretty big adjustments. Our goal was at least a top 5 if not a win.”

Danny Mathus and the Mathus Motorsports team finished 15th

“On long runs it was so loose it was like driving a sprint car.  I don’t know how we kept the truck off the wall, it was pretty hairy.  We are very disappointed that we didn’t run up front. but we build on that.  Our Changes didn’t work out and we didn’t do as good as we wanted but nobody works harder than this team does day in and day out.  We will learn from this and hopefully be faster next time.”

The Mathus Motorsports team is currently searching for a sponsor for the remainder of the season.  If you are interested, please contract Francine Schill at G&G Motorsports Marketing 607-625-5876.
