Davin
Scites Finishes 3rd After Getting The Pole and Setting A New Track Record
There were over 120 cars at Martinsville Speedway for the
Baileys 300.
"As we went through tech on Friday, we drew numbers to see where we would
qualify on Saturday. I drew a 9 making us the 9th car to qualify. We got two
short practices on Friday. After the all day tech, we ended up 7th on the
speed chart.”
”On Saturday we had two short practices early in the morning before qualifying.
We were 2nd quickest in that practice session.”
The 06 team adjusted the car before qualifying and Davin when we went out 9th
and turned a time of 20.39 seconds putting us in the top spot..
”I had to wait and watch as every team there tried to better our time. Three
hours later we captured our first Martinsville Pole and the Sparks $1000.00 pole
award. And set a new track record.”
On Sunday the race began and the 06 car was strong in the first 100 laps of the
race leading then falling to second the making a pass for the lead on the
outside. As the caution flew for the mandatory caution we Davin in second. For
the start of the second 100 laps Nascar inverted the top six cars, We started
5th but as strong as the 06 car was the first half we were confident we could
make it back up front.
”I was able to make it up to third but my car was better on the long runs and
being that we were at Martinsville, there were a lot of cautions and no longs
runs.”
Davin Finished 3rd.

Davin Wins the Greater Valley Insurance 150 at
Motormile
August
4, 2007 - Radford, VA - The day started our hot with temperatures soaring
at Motormile as Davin Scites took to the track for the two short practices early
in the day. "The car felt good for being as hot as it was. The track was hot and
slick. We went out second to Qualify for the Greater Valley Insurance 150. On my
first lap the car felt good we ran a 16.05 and the second lap would have been
better but I over drove the car driving into turn three. That made our second
lap worse than our first lap. "We ended up qualifying 7th for the 150 lap race."
"I knew we had a good car and with the race being a 150 lap race, there was time
to get to the front." When the race started, Scites started passing cars and
heading to the front. There were very few cautions scattered throughout the
race. But when Scites got to second place, the team caught a break and a caution
came out putting them on the bumper of the 26 car.
"When the race resumed, it took a couple of laps but I could see the 26 car
breaking loose and that is what we needed to pass him. On lap 79 we took the
lead and kept it going on to win the Grater Valley Insurance 150."

Stafford
Speedway Harley-Davidson 150 (6-8-07)
Practice-
This was the first race we had our new Sponsor
ALLSTATE INSURANCE on our Chevy Monte Carlos SS. First thing I noticed at
Stafford was its unique line through one and two. There was a diamond which took
you about eight feet from the apex. When on the track our times were never bad
we just struggled to gain consistency in the chassis. With several laps and a
lot of feedback from our crew we made what we felt were good adjustments for
Race and Qualify.

Scites Goes from 34th to 10th With a little Help
From His Friends
May 12, 2007 - Radford, VA - What a Weekend it was for Davin Scites!
After having an over heating problem with the engine the weekend before, we
took the car for testing on Friday only to
find that we still had an overheating problem. tested the car on Friday and
was still over heating, "With the help of my friend Forster Fry, we worked
until 2 in the morning repairing the engine for
Saturdays race at Motormile. When we arrived at Motormlle and went out for
our first practice, we found out that the engine problem was worse then we
thought. Our day was pretty much done.
As we were about to load the car up to head back home Dale Jr's teams - JR
Motorsports - offered us their backup engine. So as they were qualifying we
began work on the 06. My crew - Alan
Rohrig, Brian Lewis, Jack Scites and Forster Fry along with Jamie Caudill's
crew and Jr Motorsports Crew, were able to pull our engine out and install
the other engine.
We had to go to the back of the field since we did not get to qualify. Their
was 34 cars at Motormile Saturday night so we knew the night was going to be
filled with cautions. We worked our way
to the front keeping the 06 clean. With no practice we fought a very tight
race car but I was glad to get another top ten. Thanks to JR Motorsports and
everyone that helped Saturday night get us
back on the track.

ARCA Remax Series Buckle up
Kentucky 150 - Hernandez Finishes 6th in his
first ARCA Race
(5-12-2007) - RACE REPORT
Practice
Right out of the box we start focusing on race trim. We found a consistent
balance before we decided to try and make a few qualifying runs. We found our
race trim to be competitive and with that done it was off for my first ever
qualifying run at speed.
It’s amazing what a little
tape does; you want to talk about feeling like superman behind the wheel, this
will do it. I noticed the difference getting up to speed, nose pinned, car down
in the track, and glued. First attempt puts us seventh on the board. As we
prepared for a second run to make some adjustments an accident on the track
happens and with that the conclusion of practice.

May 6th, 2007 -
Asheboro, NC -

was Sunday, the teams could not start the engines till 12 noon.
"It was a quick day. We had two practices and qualified all in two hours. Our
car was extremely loose for qualifying putting us in the 13th spot. We found a
few problems with the car after qualifying.

Davin Scites
Wins from the Pole at Motormile
April 28, 2007 - Radford,
VA - Davin Scites is off to a blazing start this season after
claiming the checkered flag in the first of two Late Model Stock Car races
Saturday night. Davin Scites also claimed his second pole award at Motomile.
"We started on the pole for the first race. The night was cold so the tires
did not have a lot of heat in them. At the start of the race the car slipped up the
track hanging me on the outside. It felt like a hundred cars went by on the
inside before I could move back down. At that point we were in fifth. About
lap 20 the car started coming to life and we started working our way back to
the front."

NEWGreased
Lighting 150 4/29/07 - RACE REPORT
Practice
We
unloaded with an untested car. Not really worried…but with the limited practice
time given and the extensive trips through the tech line we found ourselves
struggling. Our Waste Management Monte Carlo SS was tight all practice and even
when making big changes we could not get away from our problem. As we had done
in our Phoenix race…we made more calculated changes to improve our chassis and
went off to qualify. Unfortunately for our situation, we drew early to qualify
which made matters that much worse. In qualifying for the Greased Lighting 150,
twenty six cars were taken in on time with four provisional starting positions.
I did the best I could anticipating the chassis changes and trying to lay down a
lap that would lock us in to the show.

Davin Scites on the Pole, Finished 2nd at Motormile

April 21, 2007 - Radford, VA -
Thirty cars went out to practice for the Hawkeye West/ CMC Supply 150 at
Motormile on Saturday night. The teams got two short practices before
qualifying. Davin had some carburetor problems that the team worked on and by
the second practice Scites was on the track.
Davin got a total of 17
laps of practice. "We knew we had a good car from the way our test went. I was
next to last to qualify. I went out and put us on the pole.
We won the Price's Body Shop
Pole Award for the race. That was a great way to start."
At the start of the race Davin
led the first lap. "The car started pushing and we fell back to third place."
On lap 20 Scites took the lead back. "The longer we ran the better the car
got. We had a real good car throughout the race. At the end there was a couple
of red flags and that is what hurt us tonight. On the second restart we got
passed for the lead with 10 laps to go. l caught him, but we ran out of time.
There just wasn't a long enough green flag run."
Davin Scites finished 2nd.
"This is the second time that we have had the car out and to got the pole and
run second here tonight," Scites said, happily. "I'm tickled."
"There are a few issues we have
with the car," Scites elaborated. "We still have a few bugs to work out with it
being a new car and all but I can't say enough about my crew here tonight. I
think this is going to be a good year."
