Jesus is ready to go
with Waste Management
Rounding
out Team Waste Management Racing's roster is Dodge Weekly Racing Series driver,
Jesus Hernandez.
At age 23, Hernandez has already shown himself to be one
of the most talented young drivers around. In fact, he's
excelled as he progressed through several series at highly
competitive tracks in Southern California - capturing Rookie
of the Year honors in both the Junior Grand American Modified
and the Grand American Modified. Now, he's bringing his
talent and drive to succeed to Team WM Racing. And we're
going to help him take the next step to become a champion
on a bigger stage."Being a first generation
Mexican-American was a disadvantage when it came to racing. I lacked the
resources that some competitors had. I was racing with second and third
generation drivers with networks and resources that I didn't have. So coming to
this new program allows me to be on a level playing field. Also being on the
forefront of drivers changing the face of NASCAR and paving the way for all
people to be recognized as competitors is an awesome cause". Hernandez said.
This effort will be led by Sam Belnavis, Chief Diversity Officer of Roush
Racing. Giving people with drive the opportunity to succeed parallels Waste
Management's own diversity goals and we're excited to be part of this dynamic
and worthwhile effort.
